It’s 5:30 PM on a Thursday. You’re sitting at your desk in downtown Houston, your brain is buzzing from back-to-back meetings, and your neck is tight from staring at a screen for eight hours straight. You know you need to move, but the thought of a monotonous treadmill session feels more like a chore than a release.
What if I told you that just a few blocks away, there’s a sanctuary of rhythm, laughter, and high-energy music waiting to wash away your workday stress?
Welcome to Zumba at Trebly Park.
If you’ve been looking for a way to reclaim your joy, reconnect with your body, and join a community of vibrant, high-achieving women who know how to work hard and play harder, this is your invitation. Here’s the schedule, clearly:Every FIRST Thursday of the month we’re at Post Houston. Every other Thursday (the rest of them) we’re at 6:30 PM at Trebly Park, Houston—turning the green space into a celebration.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or someone who claims to have "two left feet," this class is for you. It’s not about perfection; it’s about presence.
The Trebly Park Vibe: An Urban Oasis
There is something truly magical about outdoor fitness in the heart of Houston. Trebly Park, located at 1515 Fannin St, is a stunning pocket of green surrounded by the soaring architecture of downtown. When the sun starts to dip and the city lights flicker on, the park transforms into an energetic hub.
The atmosphere is infectious. You aren’t just working out in a dark, windowless gym; you’re breathing in the fresh air, feeling the evening breeze, and dancing under the vast Texas sky. It’s an immersive experience that reminds you that you are part of something bigger than your to-do list.

Why Zumba? The Serotonin Boost You Deserve
As high-achieving women, we spend so much of our time in our heads. We are planning, executing, and problem-solving. Zumba offers a rare opportunity to drop out of your head and into your body.
Zumba is an interval-style dance-fitness class that blends Latin and international rhythms with easy-to-follow moves. We alternate between high-intensity tracks that get your heart rate up and lower-intensity grooves that let you catch your breath and feel the rhythm. This style of training is incredible for cardiovascular health, but the mental benefits are even better.
When you dance, your brain releases a flood of endorphins and serotonin: the "feel-good" hormones. By the time we hit the cool-down, that work-related anxiety from 9:00 AM feels like a distant memory. You’ll leave the park feeling lighter, happier, and completely recharged for the weekend ahead.
The Rotation: Trebly Park vs. Post Houston
I know many of you have joined me for classes at Post Houston, and you might be wondering how Trebly Park fits into the mix. Think of them as two different "vibes" in your wellness toolkit.
Here’s the rhythm so it’s crystal clear:
Having these two locations allows us to keep the momentum going week after week. It ensures that no matter where you are in the city, there is a space held specifically for your growth and your joy. You can always check my full schedule on the event list to see where we’re dancing this week.

Let Go of the "Perfection" Trap
I talk a lot about presence group coaching because I believe that most of us are far too hard on ourselves. We feel like if we can't do a movement perfectly, we shouldn't do it at all.
Forget that.
In my Zumba class, there is no "wrong" move. If you’re moving and you’re smiling, you’re doing it right. I see women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s all coming together, letting their hair down, and just being. We shake off the pressure to be the perfect boss, the perfect partner, or the perfect employee. For one hour, you just get to be YOU.
This is a "no-judgment zone." We are here to support one another. When you look around the park and see other women laughing as they try to catch a tricky footwork pattern, you realize that we’re all in this together. That community connection is what keeps people coming back week after week. If you're looking for more ways to connect with like-minded women, be sure to check out our health and wellness group.

Logistics: What You Need to Know
Ready to join the party? Here are the quick details to make your Thursday as seamless as possible:
LOCATIONS:Post Houston (FIRST Thursday of the month) + Trebly Park, 1515 Fannin St, Houston, TX (every other Thursday of the month—the rest of them).
TIME:6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (for the Trebly Park Thursdays).
COST: This class is often presented as a free community event by Downtown Houston+, making it an amazing, low-barrier way to jumpstart your fitness journey.
BRING YOUR WATER: Houston humidity is no joke! Stay hydrated. I also recommend bringing a small towel.
FOOTWEAR: Wear supportive sneakers. We are dancing on a mix of surfaces, so you want shoes that can handle lateral movement.
PARKING: There is street parking around the park, and several garages nearby. Give yourself an extra 10 minutes to find a spot so you don't feel rushed.

A Ritual of Self-Care
We often think of "rituals" as quiet things: meditation, journaling, or a warm bath. But a high-energy dance class can be just as much of a ritual. It’s a recurring commitment you make to yourself to prioritize your physical and mental health.
By showing up at Trebly Park every other Thursday, you are sending a message to yourself that your energy matters. You are saying that your "after-hours" time is sacred. This isn't just a workout; it's a way to reclaim your autonomy after a day of answering to everyone else.
If you are struggling to find a fitness routine that actually sticks, I encourage you to read my tips on choosing the best gym membership or even my advice on fitness New Year's resolutions (it’s never too late to restart!). The secret is always the same: find something you actually enjoy doing.
Take the First Step
The hardest part of any fitness journey is simply showing up. Once the music starts and the first beat drops, the rest takes care of itself.
I want to see you out there. I want to see you shaking off the stress of the week and replacing it with the vibrant energy of the Houston community. Whether you're coming alone or bringing a group of coworkers for a "happy hour" alternative, you are welcome here.
Check the upcoming schedule and mark your calendar for our next session at Trebly Park. Let’s make Thursdays the highlight of your week.
RECLAIM YOUR JOY. FIND YOUR RHYTHM. SEE YOU AT TREBLY PARK.
